The curriculum spans four intensive modules: Day 1 covers doula scope of practice, non-clinical boundaries, and trauma-informed foundations. Day 2 teaches hands-on labor support, comfort measures, counterpressure, and positioning. Day 3 focuses on family support, care team collaboration, advocacy without overstepping, and the BRAIN decision-making tool. Day 4 addresses continuity of care, community referral networks, client intake, and professional business readiness.
Every student receives four 60-minute slide presentation decks, comprehensive daily student workbooks with reflection exercises, practical role-playing scenarios and case studies for live practice, printable peer assessment checklists, and professional service agreement templates.
The training pairs expert instruction with realistic role-playing scenarios and peer assessment checklists. Students practice sacral counterpressure, hip squeezes, rebozo techniques, and communication phrasing in supportive peer cohorts.
No prior clinical background is required. The training is specifically designed to teach non-clinical support, professional boundaries, and effective communication from the ground up for aspiring and practicing doulas alike.
Immediately upon completing your enrollment, you receive secure login access to your student portal, where all presentation decks, downloadable PDF workbooks, practice guides, and checklists are available for download.
Day 4 is dedicated entirely to professional readiness, covering client intake workflows, on-call logistics, building allied health referral networks (IBCLCs, perinatal mental health specialists, and pelvic floor physical therapists), service contracts, and burnout prevention.
